Learn how to use your LINC

LINC is designed for all types of dexterity, including people with different types of manual disability. Here you’ll find different ways to use it on doorknobs, door pulls and touchscreens.

Door knobs

To push doors with knobs:

Step 1: Grip your LINC by placing your middle and ring fingers in the holes, and your thumb on the dip beside the logo.
Step 2: Place your index finger on the dip next to the maple leaf for a better grip.
Step 3: Press the rubber rim against the face of the doorknob.
Step 4: Turn and push to open door.

To pull doors with knobs:

Step 1: Hold your LINC as described in Step 1 for push doors.
Step 2: Press the rubber rim down onto the top of the doorknob.
Step 3: Turn and pull to open door.

OR

Step 1: Insert your index and middle fingers through your LINC’s two holes.
Step 2: Hook it to the neck of the doorknob.
Step 3: Gently pull it toward you and turn the knob.

Tip: To avoid getting your LINC stuck, press the side of your foot against the bottom edge of the door and lift LINC to remove from the door knob. 

 

Pull doors

To open doors with pull handles:

Step 1: Insert your index and middle fingers through your LINC’s two holes.
Step 2: Align your LINC with the door handle at a 30-degree angle.
Step 3: Use the tip to hook the handle and push, pull or slide to open door.

Tip: To avoid getting your LINC stuck, press the side of your foot against the bottom edge of the door and lift LINC to remove from the pull door.

 

Touchscreens

To use touchscreens:

Step 1: Insert your index and middle fingers through your LINC’s two holes.
Step 2: Hold it perpendicular to the screen.
Step 3: Place the stylus tip flat on the screen to press or scroll. Ensure you are using majority of its flat surface.

Tip: If you require more pressure, position your thumb on the dip beside your LINC’s maple leaf.
